An officer from the Scarsdale Police Department responded to a Mamaroneck Road residence on Thursday, Feb. 7, when the resident reported that she had been on the wrong end of a threatening phone call.

Police said that the caller received a call at approximately 9:30 a.m. on her home phone, from an unknown number, though “Mercy Hospital,” showed up on the caller ID.

According to police, the caller claimed to be the complainant’s grandson. When the caller was met with skepticism, investigators said that he stated that he knew where they lived, and proceeded to provide her Scarsdale address. The caller then stated that he was “going to blow your mother (expletive) head off.”

Investigators noted that the woman said that she could hear a second person in the background during the call, who appeared to be feeding the caller what to say. The incident remains under investigation by police.
